Patty's first blog, 12/ 30/2008:
You can tell by this space that my family is working very hard to bring Mom/Nana/Patty into the hi-tech 21st century. Danny gave me a new PC for Christmas and everyone (kids, grandkids, in-laws etc) has contributed to helping me in my endeavor to become computer savvy. Believe me, it's not going to be easy! But as I sit here looking at this amazing machine with its extra-wide screen, I often wonder what my mom and dad, Bert and Mary Louise, would think. Their trusty black Royal or Underwood typewriters were their "right arms" in their news-writing world of the 20th century. Would they have embraced this new technology? I think they would have been amazed and fascinated by it!
All my children and their families were here for Christmas this year. Danny cooked his now infamous crab omelets for our annual Open House on Christmas Day. What with sides of cheesy potatoes, rolls, ham, fruit etc., the kitchen was abuzz. This year we had about 50 folks come by. There was singing around the piano that Vee was playing in the living room and Karaoke happening in the family room.. A good time was had by all!
I hope all of you that are now connected to the Vaughn Clan Blog will share your holiday '08 hi-lights with us as we begin writing, via this space. What a wonderful way for the future generations to learn about our family.
And now let us hope that good health and happiness are with us throughout 2009!
Patty
